Hanging Ropes, Chains or Cables Everyone loves swings hung with rope! A drawback to using rope is that rope stretches and needs periodic maintenance. These swingbeds or porchbeds are heavy, sometimes causing the ropes to stretch unevenly. Sometimes the knots in the rope become too tight to simply untie. and adjust. Thus requiring a rope /or all the ropes to be replaced. This continual maintenance of ropes is not included in the cost of swing. This is a case of how much do you love the look of rope! Yes, granted rope has that charisma of swings past. So, be ready for the extra cost of labor/trips/rope to your home to adjust the ropes on your swingbed or porchbed Zinc chain or stainless chain or cables. This option has less maintenance. Zinc chain costs less but may rust fairly quickly depending on your location. Stainless chains or cable is the best option for less maintenance. Even stainless components/chain or cables will also rust, just not as quickly as the cheaper zinc components/chains or cables. We charge more for stainless components and chain.
